Janet Hodgson

DIRECTOR & CONSULTANT CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST

UK Clinical Neuropsychology was founded by Janet Hodgson, Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist to meet the needs of those with brain injury primarily living in the North of England.

Originally from Australia, Janet has gained qualifications in both Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology from Australia and the UK, has over 20 years experience working in the field, and is on the British Psychological Society Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN).

Janet has completed medicolegal work, and led Neuropsychology services for many years at Consultant level in both the private sector and in the NHS, including across multiple geographical regions. Historically she set up a national neuropsychology service for people with Encephalitis and currently provides expert advice to the Independent Funding Review panel for inpatient rehabilitation whilst managing the Neuropsychology Department at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Janet is committed to providing value-driven highly professional, neuropsychological support that maximises recovery and quality of life for people with brain injuries and other health conditions, as well as for their families and carers.

Dr Helen Toone

BSc (Hons), D.ClinPsy, C. Psychol., SRCN

Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr Helen Toone is a Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 20 years’ experience working with people with a wide range of neurological and other health conditions, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, encephalitis and neurodegenerative conditions. As clinical lead of Bradford Community Head Injury Rehabilitation Team (Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust), Helen oversees the clinical work of the multidisciplinary team, including referral and risk management, assessment and intervention and service development. She regularly undertakes complex neuropsychological assessments with people with brain injury, including for the purpose of determining cognitive abilities and mental capacity. Helen takes pride in her empathic and holistic approach, working collaboratively with the individual and significant others to achieve personally meaningful goals.

Dr Yasmine Precious

BSc (Hons) 1st Class, D.ClinPsy

Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology

Dr Yasmine Precious is a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years of experience working in the field of psychology and has a passion for working in Neuropsychology. Yasmine has worked with acquired and degenerative neurological conditions, and traumatic brain injury in both inpatient and community settings, in the private and public sector and across the lifespan.

She has worked both in the UK and in Australia, with a diverse range of clinical groups. This includes assessment and treatment for the Australian Defence Force and psychological support for War Veterans and their families, including TBI and ABI. She has extensive training and experience in completing assessments for Autism with children and adolescents in CAMHS, and assessments for Autism Spectrum Conditions and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder with Adults, where she received training and supervision from Professor Tony Attwood. Yasmine has also historically completed Expert Witness reports for the Child and Family Courts.

Yasmine has strong academic skills to complement her clinical practice, having been employed as the Senior Lecturer, Course Convenor and Clinical Lead on the Clinical Psychology Programme at Charles Darwin University, Australia. She is currently conducting research in adapting The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust Memory and Information Processing Battery for brain injury assessment (BMIPB-II) for use with individuals who experience hearing loss.

In 2016 Yasmine appeared in the Louis Theroux documentary: A Different Brain.
