Services
UK Clinical Neuropsychology provides the full range of Clinical Neuropsychology services to adults who have experienced brain injuries and their family members and carers.
Neuropsychological Assessment
Neuropsychological Assessment involves developing an understanding of strengths and difficulties across multiple areas of functioning post brain injury so as to inform rehabilitation.
Neuropsychological Therapy
Neuropsychological Therapy seeks to minimise the impact of difficulties identified in the neuropsychological assessment. The aim is to enable the individual to complete activities of everyday living and fulfil valued roles.
Expert Witness Reports
Expert Witness reports are prepared for Civil Proceedings and the Court of Protection for adults with neurological conditions.
Training, Supervision & Consultation
Training, supervision and/or consultation can be provided on a one-to-one basis or in a group format to healthcare professionals, support staff and others.
Therapies
UK Clinical Neuropsychology has expertise in an extensive range of therapies for supporting people to manage and adjust to difficulties associated with brain injury.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps people to recognise the relationship between thoughts, emotions, physical feelings and behaviour (or actions) and how links between these maintain distress.
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT teaches people strategies that help them accept rather than challenge difficult thoughts and experiences, with a view to promoting engagement in valued activities.
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
PBS involves understanding and addressing the reasons for problematic behaviour.
Narrative Therapy
In Narrative Therapy there is a focus on the stories that people develop and carry through life and how these might be modified following brain injury.
Cognitive Rehabilitation
Cognitive Rehabilitation involves considering a range of interventions for ‘restoring’ cognitive function and/ or ‘compensating’ for difficulties with thinking skills.
Vocational Rehabilitation
Vocational Rehabilitation aims to address barriers that exist in maintaining or returning to work or education after a brain injury.
